At The MAZE, you can choose from a multitude of ceramic projects (in bisque or green-ware) or enroll in one of the many
arts & crafts classes, like jewelry making, watercolor, junk journals, macramé, crochet and so much more!
For a walk-in ceramic project, we provide the paint, brushes, and everything else needed to make your creation a ONE OF A KIND!!
We have two options for ceramics painting. If you want that special glossy shine that comes from firing in the kiln, you can underglaze in your favorite colors, let dry, apply glaze, then we can fire it for you. Come back to pick up your special creation (or have it mailed to you) and see how much talent you have! It takes approximately 7 to 14 days for the entire process to be completed. Additional time will be added for shipping.
Are you impatient and want instant results? Try our make and take option. With this option, you can stain your ceramic piece with acrylic paint, let it dry, and then spray with a clear-coat glossy spray. Dry time is about 5 minutes. We have a large selection of paints to select from. Once your project is dry, it's ready to take with you!
At The MAZE you will learn from our in-house specialist, Mae Boughman, who has over 60 years experience in ceramics. She is offering classes in basic green-ware prep for fire, slip casting, wheel throwing and hand building classes. She is knowledgeable with all things ceramics and teaches different techniques in all her classes.
On top of our full-service ceramic experience, we have a selection of arts and crafts supplies to purchase, host arts and crafts parties, invite artists and crafters to teach in our building for more diverse offerings, and have a small gallery with one-of-a-kind items for purchase. Our gallery is full of one-of-a-kind handmade and vintage items.
If you know you're going to come often, then you must join our Arts & Crafts Guild! The Guild is a group of artists and crafters who pool their money together ($25 annual membership) to get 1) 10% discount on all The MAZE owned craft supplies and gallery items, 2) 10% off The MAZE-led classes, 3) 10% off room rent for small and large rooms at The MAZE, 4) space in the The MAZE gallery to sell up to five items, 5) access to the open workshop area at The MAZE as available, 6) 10% off of The MAZE potter's wheel rent, 7) to participate in guild craft supply swaps and 8) to participate in one to two juried arts and craft shows each year.
The Guild is a separate entity from The MAZE and is operated by an elected group of officers and has separate funds for group projects. The MAZE offers all the benefits listed above as well provides a meeting room space for membership meetings.
